Privacy Policy, Lifeguard Class Recommender Chrome Extension
Last updated: April 29, 2026
WHAT THE EXTENSION DOES
The extension reads the search query (the “q” parameter) of the search
results page you are already viewing on Google, Bing, or DuckDuckGo. This
query is used to decide which recommendation card to show. The card is
inserted into the page in your browser.
DEFAULT BEHAVIOR, NO DATA TRANSMITTED
By default, no data is sent off your device. The extension contains no
advertising trackers and no remote code execution.
OPTIONAL LOCAL HISTORY
If “Local history” is enabled in the toolbar popup (it is on by default),
each triggered query is saved in chrome.storage.local on your own
computer. You can view it or clear it from the popup at any time. This
data never leaves your browser.
OPTIONAL REMOTE ANALYTICS, OFF BY DEFAULT
The popup contains a “Remote analytics” feature that is OFF by default.
If you enable it and save a webhook URL of your choice, each triggered
recommendation will send a single event to that URL. You choose the
mode:
• “Aggregate” sends only metadata (state slug, course slug, timestamp).
• “Full” additionally includes the search query text.
The endpoint is whatever URL you configured; the extension does not have
a default endpoint. Permission for the endpoint domain is requested only
when you save the URL. You can disable the feature at any time.
DATA SHARING
The developer does not collect, sell, or share any data. If you have
configured a remote endpoint, that endpoint is yours; no data is sent
to the developer or to any third party other than the endpoint you
chose.
